About Tech-Bytes
Tech-Bytes is the trading name of Daryl Hunter, an independent sole trader in England and Wales. Email hdaryl@hotmail.co.uk. Tech-Bytes is not VAT registered. The correspondence address is shared in quote or contract paperwork as appropriate.
Quotes and scope
Website descriptions are indicative, not binding offers. Price, scope, payment terms, support limits, third-party dependencies and start date must be agreed in writing before paid work starts.
Independence
Tech-Bytes does not claim affiliation with any employer or third-party brand without explicit written confirmation, and does not use third-party confidential systems or materials without authorisation.
Services and limits
Services include small-site hosting, DNS guidance, website care, private personal VPN/DNS-filtering options and Raspberry Pi/home-lab work. Tech-Bytes does not provide MSP-style business IT, business networking, Microsoft 365 administration or managed cybersecurity. VPN services do not guarantee anonymity, uninterrupted connectivity or complete security.
Payments
Deposits, payment dates, renewals, third-party charges and change requests will be specified in the written agreement. Tech-Bytes is not VAT registered.
Consumer cancellation
Where applicable, consumers buying remotely may have a 14-day cancellation right. Requests for immediate delivery or digital content may affect that right in ways explained before work begins. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
Customer responsibilities
Customers must supply accurate details, have rights to any content or credentials provided, maintain their own backups unless otherwise agreed and comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. Confidential employer or third-party data must not be supplied without authorisation.
Suppliers and availability
Hosting, domain names, SSL, email and other services can depend on third parties and their terms or outages. Specific commitments are defined by the agreed service contract.
Ownership and liability
Customers retain rights to their own materials. Pre-existing tools and templates remain with their original owner unless agreed otherwise. No limitation excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, death or injury caused by negligence and mandatory consumer rights. Additional limitations may be agreed in writing for business customers.
Suspension and governing law
Services may be restricted or ended for non-payment, abuse or legal/security reasons, with notice when reasonable. The governing law is England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
