Introduction
This notice explains how Tech-Bytes handles personal information collected through enquiries, quotes and agreed services. Do not send passwords, employer confidential information or third-party customer data using the contact form.
Who we are
Tech-Bytes is the trading name of Daryl Hunter, a sole trader in England and Wales. Daryl Hunter is the data controller. Contact: hdaryl@hotmail.co.uk. Business correspondence address is provided in contractual paperwork when needed. ICO/data protection fee status: under review.
Information we process
Names and contact details; enquiry messages, project requirements and quotes; service and account details required for agreed work; invoices and billing records; and technical information such as IP addresses, browser data, security logs and form abuse indicators. Payment card data should be processed by payment providers, not stored by Tech-Bytes.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use personal information to answer enquiries and provide quotes (legitimate interests or pre-contract steps); deliver agreed services (contract); meet accounting and tax requirements (legal obligations); and protect systems from abuse (legitimate interests or legal obligations). Marketing communications are sent only where permitted under applicable privacy and electronic marketing law.
Who receives information
Information may be shared where necessary with hosting, DNS, domain, email delivery, support, payment and accounting providers, professional advisers or legal authorities. Website enquiries may be delivered via Resend, an email service provider.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK; appropriate legal safeguards will be used where required.
Retention
Enquiries that do not become customers are generally retained for up to 12 months; customer records may be held for the relationship and later legal needs; accounting records are normally held up to 6 years; security logs and backups are usually retained for 30–180 days, subject to legitimate exceptions.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion or restrictions, object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent where it applies. Email hdaryl@hotmail.co.uk. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
